This Monday I shall be striving to smash quotas in The Office.

Send me a text this evening or Saturday about the photos. I should have their originals on my external HDD probably...most likely...hopefully weren't on the computer that broke down...

I want us to have one piece of propaganda in the main thread for the game per thread page. My first post is only on page 10, with your permission I can put something in your post on page 1. I'm an admin on the NYCAS forum.

By all means, hijack as you see fit. If you're intro post is too buried, I say add it to both posts. A lot of people have the thread subscribed, so they'd get the notification of a new reply as well.

So I can stop flooding the thread with my "art", I'll just post a link that holds all of my posters. I'll update that page with new/different designs for approval.

Great stuff.
Your work has been the best contributions to this thread so far.
So do not be misguided into thinking it to be clutter.
Great thinking in taking other sources and blurring the details to fit our look go Bad Blood.

I'm really liking the last 3 so far.
I'd play around with the fonts. And the slogan when it appears over photo background needs it's own background. Signifying that it is important and read separately from the other text. Which was one of the reasons I had suggested it being like an old fashioned Communist banner, blocky gold font on a crimson background.

You forgot to remind me about the original/larger files!

GAR! That I did. I like the last one the most so far. Fits in with the minimalist style. The silhouette of comrade Schultz was for fun but seemed to turn out alright. I'll definitely play with the fonts and see what I can make happen.

I like the minimalist one too. Specifically for recruitment from other forums, like Red-Alliance.
But replacing the event name with something else it could be used on the field (and NYCAS recruiting) too.

I had other notes to add, but can only write so much on my phone.

You've also been immortalised on the main BB facebook page. I posted the closeup of you.

Loving it!
This is exactly what this thread was supposed to be for.
Well, for also generating potential recruits for TSSR.
But this is how it it should be.

Image
Is it possible to add a little shading around the peace fingers, help bring out the contrast between the blurry background and my pasty white fingers. And maybe add some border/trim/shade (whatever it's called) to the top letters. Just naked yellow, it bleeds too much. I think the letters need some sort of outlining. The cockade on my panama, it has a star in the oval, is it possible to bring it into some resolution/clarity? Is it possible to edit out the microphone from my face?

Image
I'm really liking it. But it's missing some symbolism. I feel there is a triangle of dead space by ElChulo's back.

Here's some more material. Some alternatives to the Marxist heads, one with out Mao. There is technically a difference between being a Marxist and a Maoist.

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LPzLBZTsQwQ/T ... arxism.jpg
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_A_Oxtu2uo4s/S ... banner.png

Communist countries had symbols like crests. One specific for our fake Marxist group would be great. Why not make it's own custom party crest? Fist overlaying on a star, maybe AK's framing it like a triangle. All on a shield using that flag pattern. Or a shield with 2 or 3 Congolese national symbols on the corners.
Here's an example of a Canadian on
http://tmg110.tripod.com/REDFL/cancp.gif
The national maple leaf symbol, red, a grain stalk for agriculture and a cog for industry.
I think Africans used symbols like machete or scythe or hoe instead of the sickle. Cogs instead of hammers.

When I was speaking mentioning banners before, I meant something like this
http://i658.photobucket.com/albums/uu30 ... 1247860006
Have the official party message done up on something that resmebles this, and inset it into pictures that have lots of dead-space. "Vigilance" actually has 3 areas of dead space.

I really like this one
Image
The simplistic nature of it also makes it very dramatic. But it is a lot of dead space.
If we come up with an official crest, or make that banner I mentioned, or just the flag we have been using. At least one of those things to tie it back to Congo or Marxism, besides the word in the caption bar. Also, Schultz also has a star cockade, but it seems to have been totally washed out. Any way of salvaging it? Or just sticking a star from comrade Russian or from a different photo?

I like it!
Image
But maybe that Marxist coin would fit better in the dead-space of "Vigilance" and in it's place here throw in the suggested banner. It is a wide space, plenty of space to put writing on the wall.

Love it!
Image
Only thing here, I think it should end on an exclamation point. There is a period after the first phrase, and nothing at all after the second phrase.

I like the simplicity of the first one. However, its just not Communist enough.

The 2nd one is too cluttered.
But I do like the flags as drapery.
Perhaps, instead of the fist inside the star, you incorporate the elements of Congo's current coat of arms: Spear, Tusk, Leopard.
And throw in a single AK.
For example:
Huge red star, with flags draping it on the sides.
Inside the star you have a sickle, inside the curve of the sickle is like a bouquet of a spear, tusk, and AK coming out. Under the star, in the triangle space it creates, have the head of the Leopard/Jaguar.

It's really coming together!

I know that is the official spear, but it looks like a donkey tail to me.
Maybe something that looks more like a spear? Or leave it as is.
I'm more concerned about creating a unifying frame for this crest/coat of arms.
Maybe ditch the draping flags and put this all inside the earlier shield?

Or have the draping flags come out of the the base of the central triangle of the star.
And use some sort of wreath to encircle the star from the bottom and the sides? European countries used grain wreaths or leaves. I think Africanized versions are of sugar cane?

I threw together a fast and dirty graphic for Facebook. I put this together earlier. I hope it fits the idea of a faction crest
