My CYMA EBB AK went down at an OP several months ago and I have still to open it up an attempt a repair.
I'm trying to order parts on ehobby to do the repairs. It makes a grinding sound when I pulled the trigger. Most people told me it's likely the piston. I'd like to order some gears as well. Since it's a design based on the blowback VFC version, can anyone give me advice on what kind of replacement gears to buy? Thanks.

Just get a new piston. I really don't know which brands are most trusted, but just go with a known brand. Unless you are shooting like a support gunner, you don't need an all metal teeth piston. I saw those last year, and was wishing they existed when I had my RPK. Almost all pistons have partial metal teeth. As in first couple of teeth are made of meal, the rest are plastic/nylon.

Since no one has looked inside of your GB, we can't say you need anything else replaced. But from the sound of it, it shouldn't be more than just a new piston.
