Moscow, Russia
President Medvedev today railed at the United States calling their military buildup in Columbia a 'provocation for war' and 'further proof that American Imperial ambitions drive their Foreign Policy.' Citing the War in Iraq along with a long list of US military interventions in Central and South America since the early 1900's Russian President Medvedev demanded the international community step up pressure on the United States to prevent an outbreak of hostilities.

Washington DC, USA
Speaking before a joint session of Congress today the President pressed his case for sanctions against Russia and Venezuela as the prospect of hostilities seem greater by the day. Referring to the Monroe Doctrine and the Roosevelt Corollary the President stated that any Russian intervention in Venezuela constitutes a violation of the principles of American Foreign Policy and represented a direct threat to the National Security of the United States. This strong language, rarely used in public speeches, displays the tenaciousness that the President has for the presence of Russian Military forces in the Western Hemisphere and from the reaction of the Congress, represents their opinion also.

In other news the Red Cross has moved emergency supplies and personnel to the region in order to assist displaced civilians and casualties in the possibility of hostilities.

It is more than I want to pay for a regular Op. 2 years ago Monty was charging that much also. But Strategy Plus is a better field than the ones Monty used. Honestly, even if it wasn't Russian themed, I'd still consider going to it because its supposed to be a big game on a good field. And aren't you tired of playing at like the same 2 fields yet? Even the Eastern Wolves are going to go to it, and they used to complain about the distance to ET. But I'm not disputing that the price sucks.

On The Daily Show after the Russian presidential election John Stewart was like, and even if Putin became assistant manager at the Moscow Gap, he'd still be the most powerful person in Russia. But doesn't Medvedev's term end in 2012?

Comrades of Long Island, what's the word from you guys? Get a carpool going and hitch a ride on a ferry to CT!

Things are still looking up on my side of the mountains, I have aquired an AK103 will upgrade it, and will be all set and ready. Giakonda (shadow) looks like he is honestly considering it.

OPORD F09-001: OPERATION PETRO POLITICS 2: VENEZUELA

Time Zone Used Throughout Order: Local

Task Organization: Hosted by the University of Connecticut Airsoft Team
Event Organizer: Kevin Evringham
Event Admin: David Busch
Event Admin: Tyler Jennings
Head Referee: Leanne Thurston

THIS IS A NON-STOP EVENT. BRING FOOD, WATER, & BB’S

1. SITUATION

a. Combatants: US/NATO forces with Contractor element versus combined Russian-Venezuelan forces with embedded Political Officers and Commissars.

(1) US/Nato Forces:
(a) US/Nato military units have been inserted into the AO from other more active locations and as such wear a variety of uniforms.
(b) Contractors are onsite supporting the efforts of the State Department and the Red Cross as they increase the profits of their company and are not considered members of the military.
(2) Russian Forces:
(a) Russian military units have flown in to support President Chavez’s government in light of growing US aggression.
(b) Attached to the Russian military are a throw back to the Soviet days, true Commissars lead by a Political Officer to encourage and raise the moral of the Russian troops.
(c) Venezuelan military units are in civilian clothing to confuse US/Nato forces and act as an insurgency.
(3) Red Cross:
The Red Cross has sent a mission to the area to assist with Medical Testing of civilians as there is a serious concern for the out break of a mutated Flu virus similar to the H1N1 panic in the United States. These are NON-COMBATANTS and will not engage any unit on the field.

b. Game Day Information
(1) Weather: Partly Cloudy. Expect high temperatures in the 50’s and low temperatures in the 30’s. Participants are expected to be prepared for such weather.
(2) Terrain and Elements: The entire woods field of Strategy Plus.
(a) This AO is consisted of cliffs, woods, many rocks, small swamp area, and some minor CQB buildings. Participants are encouraged to wear protective clothing and be wary of red tape which indicates danger ‘no-go’ areas.
(b) The parking lot accommodates many vehicles but car pooling is highly recommended.
(3) Left Unit’s Mission: B Company conducts March monthly training.
(4) Right Unit’s Mission: None
(5) Attachments: None

2. MISSION: Combatants will participate in Petro Politics 2, a simulated resource engagement between US/Nato forces and Russian-Venezuelan forces. Individual missions will be issued on the field in consecutive order which will challenge even the best of leaders. Combatants should know that ALL parts of the woods field at Strategy Plus are in play (boundaries marked by yellow caution tape) including newer or unused area from past events.

3. EXECUTION

a. Event Holder’s Intent: It is my intent that all participants will conduct themselves in an honorable fashion, follow all game rules, and listen to their commanders in order to have a fun, exciting event and hopefully win the day for their side. I intend for each participant to have a great day of airsofting and hopefully set a new standard on the way events are run concerning professionalism and organization.

b. Concept of the Operation: This event will be conducted in four phases.

Phase I: Pre-game admin: Chrono, Registration, Pictures & Safety brief
Phase II: Field Staging, pre-game missions, & CO Planning period
Phase III: Petro Politics 2 Main Event
Phase IV: Post-game Raffle & End event pictures

c. Petro Politics 2 Event Timeline

(b) Russian side: Acceptable uniforms include all GREEN based uniforms such as BDU’s, Woodland Marpat, Cadpat, Green Flight suits, etc. Additionally civilian attire is allowed if utilizing blue jeans and a NON-Black top. Lastly, Political Officers and Commissars must confirm their attire through the event holder.

(4) Uniform for Referee’s: Bright Red shirt with STAFF written on the back and various color pants.

(5) Uniform for Role Players: Medical attire such as Doctors jackets, scrubs, medical gloves, and other Red Cross type clothes.

(6) Uniform for Cameramen: Bright Red shirt with STAFF written on the back and various color pants.

(7) There will be NO Weather cancellation for this event. Current weather predictions indicate clear, dry skies for the day before and after this event.

4. SERVICE SUPPORT

a. Class I (Food and Water): Participants are encouraged to bring their own food and drink as there are no on-site cafeteria facilities. It is possible the host field, Strategy Plus, will have food for sale on site but this has not been 100% confirmed. The weather is expected to be cool which, during physical activity, offers the highest chance of heat casualties due to participants not hydrating. To this effect the event holder will have water on hand as EXTRA hydration though particpants are encouraged to bring their own food and drink.
THERE WILL NOT BE A FOOD BREAK DURING THIS EVENT.

b. Class VIII (Medical): At least one certified EMT will be on hand in case of an emergency.

5. COMMAND AND SIGNAL

A Game Administrator will be on the Emergency channel at all times if Radio contact is required for an emergency.

End OPORD
__________________________________________________ ______________

I have extended the prepay option till Friday November 6th at 11:59pm.

Anyone that does not pre-pay by this time will have to pay the $55 event day registration cost.

As a reminder, all discounted admissions must provide proof of the discount upon check-in at registration on game day. Failure to do so will result in either removal from the event or require you to pay the difference to equal event day cost.

ie:
1. You signed up for $30 college discount requiring proof of fall 2009 student status

2. You forget the proof (ID, official schedule or unofficial transcript) and show up to the check-in table on event day.

3. You will be denied entry OR charged ON THE SPOT an additional $25 to play.

If it sounds harsh, that's life. You are presenting yourself to us as either a college student for fall 2009 or a ACTIVE duty military member and proof of either of these is very simple.

This should be a good one.

More announcements
Kevin wrote:
We are proud to announce official sponsorship by Airsoft Infinity, a quality airsoft retailer founded by members of the Filforce team. They are supporting our event by donating several items and offering an easy outlet for us to acquire additional raffle prizes.
Additionally, we acquired several items from Federal Airsoft to offer as raffle prizes on Sunday.
All players will recieve a raffle ticket upon registration and additional raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 each.

The Raffle items are:

ICS L85A2
Echo M4 RIS package
Classic Army AK-47
Tokyo Marui GBB 1911
AI Tornado Grenade
(2) Rx Police Tactical LED Flashlight 30 Watts
(2) Airsoft Universal Smart Charger
4 pcs rifle scopes made by JBU
2 pcs aimpoint red dot replica

Additionally we will be handing out patches to the first 125 registered players. As we stated in the beginning we are working to make this 2nd installment of the the Petro Politics better than the first and we hope you all choose to attend.

Field FPS limits to remember:

Full Auto AEG: 400 FPS with our .25 gram BB's
DM (50ft min): 450 FPS with our .25 gram BB's
Bolt action (100ft min): 500 with our .25 gram BB's

I want to be very clear that we are moving to have a more professional, accountable and overall fun event. Players attempting to use a 'hot' and therefore unsafe airsoft gun at this event will first be denied usage of the gun until it is under 400 fps with our .25 gram BB's or if they are found on the field using it they will be ejected from the event with no refund.

I love event patches!

Pasha are you in? I really want to go to this one, and I've already paid for the damn thing. But RedBull is not in a condition to drive that early in the morning, so I need a new ride

Pasha says he's ill, so he's out. :(

I'm not in a good condition either, but I prepaid and have had some really stressful times at home front, so I am super extra pissed off at myself for failing to show up tomorrow.
:furious:

And the forecast is supposed to be 65F and Sunny. And this is on an excellent field. FUCK!
:pissed:

No one was able to step up and replace RedBull as driver, so I can't make it. Those of you who do make it, take lots of pictures. And be good soldiers...not paintsofters

Make Medvedev proud...Viva la revolucion! Viva Venezuela! Viva Chavez! :bang:
and so on and so forth...
