No action shots. Photos were either staged or in camp. Action was too fast paced and we were too busy kicking *** to get any shots of ourselves during action. Unlike the typical events were an engagement can last 15-30 minutes, these were much quicker. Though, at the time life slowed down considerably. Some of Mercy's photos are of the Americans during some action.

Featuring some of the "hardcore" comrades...and comrade 7.62 (not the round, that's his callsign)
Would be nice to get this photo in black and white, and age it. I'd carry a print out version on me in the field of me and my comrades. A nice pocket stuffing.

Saturday morning, stepping off on the first patrol. Just hitting the AO, so nothing in my camo net. And didn't have time to make a camo ring yet.

*poke* *poke* yes, comrades, I think he is dead

My Mosin and my Tokarev! So nice to have any photos of these closet queens in the field.

Patrol later in the day, BIG difference. Got foliage in my camo net and got a camo ring made
Image
Beware of The Bad Bush in The 'Nam, they're talking about me
FYI, I'm the last one in the file, the one on the left. Sonic is on the right. Looking not too shabby, but just not bushy enough

More of my epic camo kit

This is just to give you an idea of just how easy it is to disappear in the jungle. They aren't wearing any camo, and it really wasn't that thick of foliage, but look at them fade into the "jungle"
Image

This is to illustrate a couple of things. Like, how Sonic's jungle hat is just too damn bright. It needs to fade, or better, get very dirty.
Image
It is more visible here than this green scarf.
You can also see his camo ring doing it's job.
You can also see how the tan/beige uniform actually does blend with the woods/jungle.

Saturday morning, breakfast
Image
Eating out of my legit PAVN bowl, some canned tuna in oil and veggies with some cracked up crackers, YUM! We had breakfast after a brief patrol getting the lay of the land.

Notice all of the ropes? There is a lot of use for ropes and twine at serious events like Op: Liberty Canyon. I'm actually surprised how little we got to use rope and twine at Op: East Wind. This last one we were supposed to finally do 36 hour patrols, we were definitely going to get use out of rope and twine on that event. But, we only got a couple of hours of patrol a day this year :(
Anyway...back at Op: Liberty Canyon V, our breakfast break also gave us an opportunity to adjust our kits and make camo rings!

Sunday morning. After being soaked, it was nice to change into something dry. And considering the heat, it was really nice to put on something very light weight. Since we were under the canopy of the woods, the black didn't get that much sun, so it was rather comfortable.

Everything except the chopsticks is made in Vietnam!
I wish I had a chance to do an NLF impression photo with my Mosin, but this was nice too.

Some more photos of comrades. This is to illustrate that you don't need to have all your kit to be as legit or near-legit as mine to participate in this epic event.

So I better see more TSSR comrades at the next one!

By the way, this is dear comrade 7.62

How the hell does one sleep barefoot and head in the dirt like that? I don't know. Unless I had to, I wouldn't do it. He didn't have to! And I don't think he did it to be 'hardcore' I think it was just being a god damn teenager.

Here are some of The Bad Guys :bang:

From another angle!

And some real action shots! Too bad it's all Long Noses/Round Eyes

"The LT is hit! Get the stretcher!"

"I need more guys on the stretcher!"

Lets end this on a good note, some gun porn!
Look at all those AKs! Yay!
Image
My 'Kosmonaut AK' next to my old AKS47 and some other beauties. Looks like an CM048M/Echo-1 AKM and a RS Type-56 with missing bayonet.
You guys feeling my field-made sling for the AMD-65?
Before our last deployment, we broke camp and cached our kit. Mercy decided to snap a shot for the road.
Image
Featuring my Zeta Labs Mosin-Nagant 91/30 Sniper Rifle, KWA TT-33 (in holster), and some mines in my Soviet gas mask bag, and hand grenades in the Soviet pouch attached to it. I was really wishing I had taken that pouch with me a couple of minutes after cache'ing it.
My Kosmonaut Special was kept under my helmet in camp, to avoid rain getting down my barrel. Decided to stow my camo ring on it too.
Image
These were like the last things I'd put on when kitting up, made sense to keep them together. Also useful to hide it's weirdness in camp.
And make her a little more coy

Oh, and there was also "Tiger **** Beer"
It was really Millier High Life with custom made labels to make it look period correct.
Image
This was off the field.

There's another set of photos from the mine field, I'll get to those in a bit...
