Yes, they should fit your AKS74U. If there is any fitting issues, sometimes there are, just a slight sanding of the rear of the mag solves that problem.

We had a discussion about these very mags when we were driving home Saturday night.

I know I was not sure if this was the one to get, that's why I asked. I'm going to order these today.

Like I was saying in the car, I have read some reviews saying that the 45rd types don't feed all their BBs. But I can tell you from experience that their 30rd types are great.

Finally my Mag AK74U magazines have arrived from ehobby asia. I got a box of 5X140 round big boys for my Kalash. After watching Sergei’s review on youtube, twice I had to do a HELL of filing down with my dremell. Since I have been very busy with my personal life and wanting to take my time with this filing stuff, I finally got it to shoot with very little difficulty. I still have a tad bit more to file down but I’m happy to have my cursed Kalash to work since my mag that came with it broke and my Element 45 rounder never worked at all. The look of the mag sucks so I’m going to need a quick heads up on how to make it look more realistic. I know RA has some stuff on modifying my mag to make it look more real but I’m to lazy to search there site. Any way some progress so I’m some what happy. Spank I will save a test mag for you so I will not file it until you test it.

Thanks for saving me 1 Don.

Here are some guides for you:

Couldn't find Misha's guide for some reason.

How well does it feed? When I ask this, I mean, after they've stopped feeding, how many BBs are left inside the actual magazine (if any at all)?

And its a RPK74 mag. Even though you are using it in your AKS74U.

Well there will always be some left over in the hop chamber, just the nature of the system. Or do you mean 4 in the actual mag? If so, that is still not bad because I read reviews of tens of BBs left over in the mag. So it sounds like you finally got something that performs better than expected instead of the other way around!

Spank you said these are RPK AK74 mags. According to the description there AK74 mags. How do you tell the difference visually? Also I was watching the history channel and they had Bin Laden with a shorty with a 45 round mag. How do I tell if he was using a RPK mag or regular 45 round AK74U mag it all looks the same to me. Plus I get the feeling from what I'm reading, that AK74U's don't use 45 round mags, but I see a lot of people on the news with them?

All the 74s, no matter what their size, have interchangeable mags. 45rd mags were designed for RPKs, but they can also be used in the regular AK74s, and the shorty AK74s. The Soviets pioneered the concept when they made the RPK and AKM mags interchangeable.

There is plenty of photographic evidence showing long mags in short guns. It looks cumbersome, and some what comical, but it is done.

I call them RPK74 mags because they were designed and issued with the RPK74. But they can be used across the 74 line of guns.

Cool, I like the cumbersome look haha! Slight problem or at least in one mag so fare. There seems to be to many BB's beging pushed into the nozel causing jamming in auto, semi is fine. I will file and test the other's and will update you later. Also I tried to make them look like Bakalite pics up soon.
