How have you, comrade, helped your rodina in the people's output of production?

This past friday, I have done the following:
1) Russofied my chicom. I did as our Soviet defenders of democratic Socialist Afghanistan did. The liberated ammunition carrying complex of Revisionists' design was enhanced by progressive Soviet techniques! I soaked and double stuffed my chicom and now she holds six instead of three 5.45x39 mags. Nothing was actually damaged in the process.

2) Constructed a radio pouch. See this thread for details on that.

3) Sewed on my collar liner. Twice

And even found time to cut my nails and dispense knowledge onto Kilroy.

Well, comrades? How has your production output been?

I found the time to install my new bolt on my Kalash over the weekend. I need help for my white collar liner though.

I have performed a final evaluation of my Five-Year Plan and calculated, by usurping the capitalists' own thievery of their own citizens by tax collection, that I may indeed be able to acquire an RPK.

I have also taken upon myself to use my proud motherland currency to purchase an e-book on Comrade Gorbachev and his valiant efforts in restoring the Communist Party as the vanguard of the proletariat in the Motherland.

Pictures update from the stuff I did last week

My stuffed lifchik  I didn't realize what a big difference I made until Sasha gave me his chicom and I stuck one 5.45x39 mag into it.

The collar liner, that I need to redo so I can have a clean side out for the next game.

And my radio pouch!

You can see on the side that my VSR canteen pouch looks really raggedy. I'm considering DIY Flora canteen pouch, or 2.

Next project for sure is double stuffing Sasha's chicom.

Thanks man. All the really complicated parts of the pouch are actually in the back (not seen in photo).

The question is now, what should I make out of the rest of that fabric that I have...:???:

First, I should give some credit, not to Martha Stewart, but to MoonDog and Don Chulo. You guys have made/mod'd your own gear before before I did.

Lets see, today I was working on double stuffing Russian's chicom. I was expecting it to be easier since it was my 2nd and not my 1st. Thinking I could apply my previous lessons and accomplish my mission quicker. But his proved tighter. My hands are kind of prunny and my palms are sore. But the mission was accomplished.

Image
Its dripping dry over night in my bathroom. This will take a while. At least its not something I have to actively take part in.
When it dries, it wont be as dark green. Also, when it was soaking, it didn't give off as much dirt as mine did.

Image
There's something else mine didn't do. It didn't tear anywhere. Russian's did. The torso side of the chicom, behind the left pouch (left when wearing it) it tore some of the fabric.

Image
But its not an actual hole. There is another layer of fabric behind the part that was ripped. So its still good.

And yesterday I was working on another radio pouch. Read more about it here.

Today I de-rusted my mags. When I had stretched out my chicom, I had used my Mag mags during the soaking. It was afterward that I realized that I could have simply just removed the springs and then used them during the soaking/stretching. So when I did Sasha's chicom I had taken the springs out first. Turns out the springs had in fact begun to rust. So today I cleaned off those springs, and since its not G&P construction, I couldn't open up the mags to clean the feed tubes, so I blew through them with hot water to clear out any potential debris. The Mag magazines don't have any metal parts besides the spring that feeds the BBs, the spring on the BB catch and the plate at the bottom and the pin that holds the stopper for the feed spring. So I shouldn't have anything to worry about rusting from my hydro-blowing. Just drying them out before I put the springs back in. Interesting that the springs weren't all the same length.

yesterday I finally rebuilt a spare GB that I will use in a SAM7 project. That's a Bulgarian rifle found in the hands of Iraqi and Indian forces. Maybe some other backwater theaters. Primarily it will be a loaner.

Today's project is a white helmet cover and a white wrap for my rifle.

Today I had re-soldered a battery. Soldered the loose wire on the broken drum mag that is for sale. And used some of that soldering stuff to fill in a gap between the handle and the bolt its attached to.

I'm hoping that since Sergei had received my buttons that he has taken the time to sew them on to his uniform.
